About Andrea
Hello! I am Andrea, a Miami native and 3rd year Chemical Engineering student at FSU. I'm in a stage of my degree where I have a strong fundemental understanding of Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics. Through my studies I have acquired many tips and strategies on how to simplify complex topics into more manageable information, whether for assignments, projects, or exam preparation. I believe my patience, attentiveness, and background would greatly benefit any high school or first year college students who are in these general or advanced placement subjects.
I enjoy tutoring because I am able to use my knowledge in order to help other students engage in the curriculum, gain confidence in their own skills, and achieve their academic goals. I consider one-on-one interactions to be highly effective in succeeding in academic subjects, especially STEM. I would hope whatever we accomplish in the tutoring session leaves the student feeling empowered in their intellect and themselves, and that they will achieve their desired results.
I'm currently working for my Bachelor in Chemical engineering, however, I have already completed the requirements for a minor in Chemistry and Mathematics. Relevant courses I have successfully passed and excelled in include: General Chemistry (w/Lab) I and II, Calculus (I, II, and III), and Physics (w/Lab) I and II. My knowledge in these subjects could help any student level ranging in middle school to general or advanced placement in high school, or first or second year university students.
I have experience in peer tutoring as well. I am a lead member in two engineering organizations at the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering--- Phi Delta Chapter of Theta Tau (Professional Engineering Fraternity) and American Insititute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE)--- which offer many opportunities for academic tutoring and professional mentoring.
