About Brooke
I am especially good at working with kids/teens. If you're looking for coaching for auditions and college auditions or a second look at your selftapes, I'm your girl. Or if you've just missed being in class and want to hit the barre/brush up on your Shakespeare.
I've been teaching younger students for upwards of ten years, starting as a TA. I also have experience teaching/advising people closer to my age who want to either try something new or just get a second pair of eyes on their work.
I was a TA to one of my life long heroes in middle and high school, I learned everything I know about teaching from her.
I have a bachelors degree in Acting for Film, and I'm presently applying to grad schools.

With a new student, it's important for me to assess skill/experience level. I'll be expecting to see a monologue or reel, or some other example of your (or your child's) work. For a ballet class, it's a little bit more of a conversation before barre and then I assess as we go.
Mostly dancers who have performance experience but not neccessarily acting experience. But there have been a few gems along the way who have been specifically interested in acting. I've loved working with both types of students, as long as they're passionate about it.
It's all about chemistry. If you don't feel comfortable/welcome with your teacher, especially when you're young, it can be difficult to really get anywhere with your art.
