I believe in interactive classes with open end discussions. Any concept is half understood without a proper explanation to interrogative questions like How? What? Why? When? Where? Etc. To master the subject, I make sure the students understands the importance of interrogative questions. Teaching aids like working models, animations, PPT’s normally aid the process of learning.
Also, a tree structure describing the lesson plan of the topics to be covered in future classes is handed out in the beginning of every topic enabling the student to know the depth of the subject. Study Material outlining the specific concepts, principles, equations distributed to the students has proved very helpful. I also recommend students to solve specific problems from the standard textbooks and previous year's exam questions to gauge the level of examination.
