About Kellie
My name is Kellie. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education (K-21) and a Master’s degree in Intervention. I have 5 years experience in K-5 special education, 2 years experience specifically in reading intervention for K-3, and am currently in my 2nd year in a new venture - working with high risk high school youth. Teaching reading is my passion. I am Orton Gillingham trained and have spent years with an interest in understanding dyslexia and reading difficulties. I will collect baseline data and progress monitor along the way so you can see the growth we make, and will be sure you understand everything I’m doing and why I am doing it. I have had several private tutoring students that have shown great success.

I will begin by collecting data and reviewing any you may already have. I have a background in early intervention and teaching children to read is a specific passion of mine. I am Orton Gillingham trained, have spent several years studying the science behind reading difficulties, and have even had success with older youth reading at K-1 levels. I also prioritize building success, goal setting, and relationship building. I will explain what I am teaching and why, and can leave resources, games, etc after each lesson.
