About Vincent
I'm a backend software developer with 7.5 years of professional experience building production systems at Clio, a leading Canadian legal tech company serving 200,000+ legal
professionals.
I worked across API development, identity systems, and accounting infrastructure at scale.
I'm passionate about helping people actually understand how software works — not just memorize syntax. My teaching style is practical and patient. I ask questions, guide your thinking, and make sure you can solve problems independently, not just follow along.
I've mentored junior engineers professionally and know how to explain complex concepts in plain language. I won Clio's Impact Award for my contributions to learning culture and continuous improvement.
Whether you're a complete beginner or preparing for technical interviews, I'll help you build real understanding and confidence.

My lessons are built around one principle: you learn by doing, not by watching.
Every session we work through real problems together. I'll teach you to break down a problem before touching code, think through edge cases, and write clean readable solutions.
Whether you're learning your first language, preparing for technical interviews, or building a web application, I'll meet you where you are.
What I cover:
Ruby and Ruby on Rails
SQL and database design
REST APIs and backend architecture
System design fundamentals
Technical interview preparation
Object-oriented programming
No passive lectures. Just practical, guided problem solving that builds real confidence.
