About Coco
I am an experienced senior maths teacher in Qld. I have a Mathematics degree with GPA 7 at the University of Queensland. I am bilingual in English and Chinese. I have teaching and tutoring experiences over 7 years and have helped hundreds of students to reach their full abilities and achieve their academic goals. With high understanding and solid knowledge of the Qld senior maths curriculum and system, I am excited about helping my students improve their high level thinking and problem solving skills.

I apply effective teaching strategies to achieve these goals. In my class, you would always hear me asking ‘Why?’ ‘Tell me more about it.’ ‘Explain it a bit more’. I believe encouraging students to think is the key to promote their high-level thinking and problem-solving skills.
Other than developing my students’ high level thinking skills, I also apply highly effective and interactive teaching strategies to make the lesson more interesting. I select quality ICT to deliver intellectually engaging lessons and expand students’ learning opportunities. The programs that I often use in my maths class include GeoGebra, Desmos and Excel where students plot graphs to have a deeper and conceptual understanding of the relationships between graphs and functions through visualisation. I also extend the usage of ICT into areas such as statistical and data analysis to prepare students to be familiar with real world applications.
