About Chantal

Hi! My name’s Chantal, I’m based in the southeast suburbs, and I’m offering in-person and online English tutoring for years 7-12. A bit about me; in 2022 I graduated from McKinnon Secondary with a 47 study score in English and as the Literature Dux. I scored a 96.15 ATAR and am now studying Law at Monash University. I also have 140+ hours of tutoring experience and a valid WWCC. For many, English is that compulsory subject that is occasionally loved, but more often loathed. With proper guidance and support, I believe English can become the former. I understand the challenges and, more importantly, I can show you that writing doesn't need to be daunting. Things I like to do in my spare time include pilates, yoga and traveling!

About the lesson

With my lessons, I’ll try to make them as clear-cut and enjoyable as an after-school English tutoring lesson can be. I think if you can genuinely enjoy your work and, as such, properly engage with it, you’ll learn. Lessons generally last for one hour but I can be flexible with times if needed :) I’ve also acquainted myself with the new VCE English study design, and am more than willing to learn a new text or two if your school’s texts aren’t in my repertoire. I have experience tutoring a range of year levels and personalize my lessons to your needs. If you're interested in a lesson or have any questions, please don’t hesitate to send me a message. Hopefully, I’ll hear from some of you soon!

Having worked very closely with Chantal in a school setting for over five years, I can very confidently say she is exceptional in all her endeavours. Without her guidance throughout VCE, myself and many of our friends would not have achieved the marks we did. Her literary analysis is deep and thorough and her ability to dissect complex texts is quite genuinely remarkable. She is patient and has a knack for making tricky concepts 'click'. I would definitely endorse Chantal as a great teacher!
