About Yichi
Hello, I'm Yichi! I am a native Chinese speaker currently completing my Juris Doctor degree. Balancing demanding legal studies with my experience working as a local barista has taught me the value of both academic rigor and warm, everyday communication. I want to teach Chinese because I love connecting with people from diverse backgrounds and sharing the richness of my culture. Whether we are discussing complex grammatical structures or chatting about daily life, my goal is to create a comfortable space where you feel confident speaking up. Hello, I’m Yichi! I am a passionate native Mandarin speaker dedicated to helping you achieve fluency in Chinese. My lessons are designed for students of all levels—whether you are a high school student needing exam support or an adult looking to learn conversational Chinese for travel or work.
My teaching approach is immersive and practical. Instead of strictly following a textbook, I use real-life scenarios, interactive dialogue practice, and authentic media to make learning natural and enjoyable. A standard session is 60 minutes long, split between learning new vocabulary/structures and actively practicing them in conversation. I pride myself on creating a patient, supportive environment where you feel confident making mistakes and speaking up.
