About Andrew
I am a multi instrumentalist with a bachelor of music from Maynooth University. I have been providing high quality and tailored lessons for the last 11 years in piano, flute, clarinet and singing exploring a range of genres including classical, opera, sacred, folk, art song, pop, musical theatre and jazz. Many of my students have progressed and completed grades and diplomas in performance and teaching with Riam, London College of Music and Abrsm. I am an experienced soloist, choral singer, accompanist and orchestral/ ensemble performer. I have experience in composing for orchestra, chamber ensembles and am proficient with arranging music and recording and mixing music to a high standard.

My approach to teaching involves getting to know the needs and aspirations of each student and gently guiding them to reach their goals in a fun, friendly and engaging lesson. All of my lessons begin with a warm up period until the student gains proficient knowledge in warming up, stretching and preparing themselves beforehand to be more efficient, healthy and ready to work for each lesson. Structure, consistency and flow is key to any lesson and this will be thought out once I get to know each individual. Most lessons are broken down into scales/ studies/ exercises/ musicianship/ performance music and theory but will be varied depending on the needs of the individual. I work with students until they are comfortable and confident in their approach to learning to navigate their instrument in a healthy and proficient manner. I am available to teach up to a diploma level/ 1st year degree in performance in piano, singing and flute.
