Teaching Methodology and Techniques
I take an adaptable, interactive approach that makes learning both engaging and meaningful. For younger children, I introduce storytelling through games like one-word stories, sparking imagination while building foundational skills. My background in teaching drama to children adds a fun, expressive element that encourages self-confidence and creativity.
With older students, I dive deeper into structured writing workshops, character development, plot structuring, and critical analysis. We also discuss philosophical ideas and contemporary moral issues, which enriches our sessions with real-world relevance and challenges students to think critically. My lessons emphasize structured research and argumentation, encouraging students to build persuasive skills alongside their writing.
Typical Lesson Plan
Each session begins with a creative warm-up, from a storytelling game for young children to a thought-provoking prompt for older students. We then focus on a key activity, such as crafting a character, analyzing a literary theme, or constructing an argument on a moral issue. The session concludes with a reflective discussion, allowing students to share insights, set goals, and celebrate their achievements.
