About Max
I am a PhD Student at the University of Southampton in the Engineering Department. I completed my Masters at the University of Liverpool in Aerospace Engineering. Aside from my studies, I have an equal love for music, be that going to gigs or playing my instruments when I have the time.
I began my tutoring journey when I was 18 completing my A-Levels where I would help out GCSE students in the school library for some extra money. I have now been tutoring for around 4 years, I have taught KS3 up to Univeristy entry level Maths and I have helped out with Kumon students alongside. I greatly enjoy teaching. I gain a huge amount of satisfaction when I see that the topic has clicked and seeing relief on my pupils face that we can move on.

All my lessons are held online using interactive features offered by zoom. I enable students to set out in advance which topics they want to cover week by week or we can set out longer structure taking in mind crucial dates/exams. I will happily repeat topics with students as many times as needed until it has really clicked with them and they could just as easily teach someone else. I am patient and understanding, pupils learn and absorb concepts in many different ways and I actively adapt my teaching to fit with any of the four learning styles. At the end of each lesson I will give pupils a question or two on the topic we have just covered to demonstrate that they have understood and can then complete their homework autonomously.

Friendly, helpful & plenty of patience....
Helped get my daughter through her GCSE 's...couldn't be happierMax is an amazing tutor. My son has always had a blockage with Maths and he managed to bring out the 'inner mathematician' in him. He's due to take his GCSE in 2022 and already his predicted grade has gone up by two. My son also struggles with social anxiety, but Max's enthusiastic and friendly approach has put him at ease and given him the confidence to speak up about areas he's struggling with so they can work on them. Highly recommend.

Max helped me with my A level maths and honestly I would not have gotten the results that I got without him. I went from a C/B student to getting an A! He was such a kind person whilst tutoring me and really explained certain problems in ways that I had never been shown before. Just all round great person and exactly what I needed.
Max is a fantastic maths tutor, after failing my maths gcse 6 times I was losing hope completely. Max gave me new ways to wrap my head around the topics and remained patient with me throughout even when I didn't want to be there and had the mindset I was going to fail again... He offered lots of methods and bucket loads of reassurance.
