About Linsi
I am a high school math teacher who currently teaches Pre-Calculus and Financial Math, and I bring both classroom expertise and a strong academic foundation to my tutoring. I have helped students improve their understanding, boost their grades, and achieve higher scores on exams such as the SHSAT and SAT.
My teaching is structured, patient, and results-driven. I focus on clear, step-by-step explanations, building conceptual understanding, and developing efficient problem-solving strategies. My teaching approach is student-centered and focused on building both understanding and confidence. I break down complex concepts into clear, step-by-step explanations and use guided practice to help students develop strong problem-solving skills. I also incorporate questioning strategies to check for understanding and address misconceptions in real time.
A typical lesson begins with a quick review of previous material, followed by introducing a new concept with examples. We then work through guided practice together before transitioning to independent practice, where I provide targeted feedback. I often include test-style questions (especially for SHSAT and SAT) to help students apply what they’ve learned in realistic contexts.
What sets me apart is my ability to identify gaps in understanding and adapt my teaching style to each student’s needs. I focus not only on getting the correct answer, but on building a deep understanding and efficient strategies that students can apply independently.
My lessons are designed for middle school and high school students, including those preparing for SHSAT, SAT, and advanced math courses such as Algebra, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, and AP Calculus. I work with students at different levels, from those who need foundational support to those aiming for top scores.
