In my experience as a lecturer, a blended learning approach often produces the best results. Lecturing different topics and chapters will often take on different approaches depending on the learning outcome required from the topic/chapter. Often in Accounting and especially in "Accounting for Law practitioners" a sound understanding of the basic principles of Accounting will create a foundation from which the student can grow and flourish when taking on more complicated principles such as General Ledger and VAT etc.
