About Jaclyn
Hi! My name is Jaclyn and I am currently studying Civil Engineering at Swansea University. I have been providing tutoring with my peers in 2018 but decided to create an online profile in 2022. I offer one-to-one lessons for KS3 and GCSE students who need Maths, Physics, and Chemistry support. I also provide National 4 and 5 tuition in all three subjects .
My approach towards teaching depends on the student as I aim to plan lessons with each student's specific goal in mind. Lessons are tailored to suit the student's needs and depend on whether they need help understanding particular topics, are preparing for the upcoming academic year or revising for exams. Whatever the case, I will refer to the required syllabus and make sure each topic is fully covered. During lessons, the student and I go over multiple solved examples and master how to apply learnt concepts to other questions. If required, I can also coach student's on how to use marking schemes to improve exam technique.
From personal experience, I've learned that going through solved examples and practice questions regularly can help improve grades greatly.
As more and more topics are covered, I will work with you to create a revision plan, provide timed exam-style assessments and ensure you understand relevant marking schemes.

Generally, an hour-long lesson consists of a short recap, followed by about 45 minutes of teaching and ends with the student and I going over a few complex examples.
I am currently offering intensive exam preparation lessons specifically for GCSE Maths students.

Perfect! Highly recommended tutor
Jaclyn is professional, competent and polite. She is an excellent tutor who explains every aspect clearly and fluently. Jaclyn communicates with my daughter so that she understands her needs and clearly takes time to plan for each session. Through her own hard work and Jaclyn's support, at the end of Year 10, my daughter achieved 2 A*s and 1A in her three sciences. I am greatly reassured that if my daughter also needs extra support with Maths in her final year, Jaclyn will provide the same high standard of tutoring.
