About Joe
My Interests I enjoy playing and listening to music and have been playing the guitar for about nine years. I have a passion for learning about different countries and their histories, especially ancient Greece, Rome, and Japan. I studied Japanese at university and have traveled to Japan many times. Additionally, I enjoy sports like soccer, rugby, cricket, and swimming.

My Approach to Tutoring
I focus on creating a supportive and comfortable learning environment, where students can build their confidence in speaking and writing English. My lessons are tailored to meet the specific needs of each student, whether they want to improve their conversation skills or need help with academic writing and assignments.
Teaching Techniques
I use a mix of conversational practice, role-playing, and structured exercises to help students become more fluent and comfortable with English. For academic assistance, I guide students through writing techniques, brainstorming ideas, and improving their writing clarity. I encourage active participation and aim to make each lesson interactive and enjoyable.
Lesson Length
Most lessons typically last 45 minutes to an hour, but I am flexible and can adjust based on the student’s needs.
Qualifications and Experience
I have been a high school teacher for ten years, with experience teaching English both in Australia (NSW) and overseas in Japan. I am qualified to teach English as a second language and have worked with students from primary school through to adults. Additionally, I have conversational skills in Japanese after studying the language for over 8 years.
