Personalised exercises and a focus on musical expression are at the core of my methodology. With over a decade as a flamenco performer and sought-after accompanist, coupled with formal education in modern music, I bring a unique blend of practical expertise and theoretical knowledge to my teaching. My experience extends to solo performances, original bands, function bands, musical theatre production, dance accompaniment, cultural diffusion workshops at various venues, festivals, schools... Open to all skill levels, my lessons cater to any player looking to refine their technique and knowledge. Passion for music and a desire to learn are the key prerequisites.

Find out more about Adrian

  • When did you first develop a passion for music and your favourite instrument?

My mum used to play cassettes and records at home, a very eclectic mix so I developed an ear for different styles and sounds early on.
In my teenage years I borrowed my dad’s guitar and started figuring things out by ear, using a guitar lesson book and a campfire songbook we had at home.
I can say music and the guitar have been part of my life for as long as I can remember.
  • Is there a particular type of music or artist that you listen to on a loop without it driving you crazy?

Not really, although I can listen to Flamenco all day. With today’s access to music, I enjoy exploring playlists rather than looping a single album. On the other hand, that has taken away some of the experience of really diving into an album from start to finish, which I still value and do out of respect for the artists and producers.
  • Explain to us the most difficult or riveting course you could personally give to a student of music.

It would depend a lot on the student's knowledge and skill but surely it would be about both the indispensable guitar technique and the musicianship required to be able to reproduce the required sound and comprehend the tradition and evolution of flamenco music. Of course, the rhythm and groove, the heartbeat of any style can only be explained to an extent but I'm sure it is possible to lead the student to the right path.
  • What do you think is the most complicated instrument to master and why?

I would say mastering an instrument begins with mastering the body and mind. Technique and repertoire matter, but real progress comes from physical awareness, mental clarity, and psychological balance. Think of the human voice, a subject itself.
  • What are your keys to success?

Setting clear goals, strong fundamentals, and disciplined practice from the start, on the other hand being always curious, listening deeply, and finding joy and fun in the process itself. I believe it is important to find a healthy balance between work and play.
  • Name three musicians you dream of meeting in your favourite bar in the early hours of the morning. Explain why.

This is a tough one. Camarón de la Isla and Paco de Lucía like they did in the 70s, do I need to explain why? those hairdos... those outfits... :-D
  • Provide a valuable anecdote related to music or your days at music school.

I have so many, like the day I played with Rosalía but this is exclusive content only for my students ;-)
  • What are the little touches that make you a Superprof in music?

I work to understand each student’s goals and learning style early on, and I focus on giving them clear, practical tools they can use immediately.
I have worked hard to combine strong musical fundamentals with real-world playing experience, which allows me to offer hands-on solutions focused on what matters to the student.
I’m patient, relaxed, and a little funny, I'm thrilled to share my knowledge in every lesson. My aim is for students to feel supported, challenged, and motivated from one lesson to the next.
