About Max
Having recently finished a Masters Program at McGill University, I am currently teaching ESL at an animation studio in downtown Montreal. I have over ten years of teaching and tutoring experience, and I have worked at several private language schools in Montreal and tutored both children and adults in private classes. My BA degree in English is from Copenhagen University and is geared towards teaching English in Danish high schools. Through both my professional and academic experiences, I have acquired extensive knowledge of the English language, and I am motivated to help others develop their own English language skills.

My teaching approach is centered around three central ideas:
1) Providing guidance and tools that enable students to become independent and assertive learners. In this way, students can continue developing their language skills effectively both in and, importantly, outside of class. Students will learn to take control over their own learning process, identify areas that need to be improved, and work towards achieving their personal goals.
2) Using class time efficiently and working towards a proficient use of English. This means that we will not waste time in class with "fun" exercises that are not very effective. Of course, it is very important to keep lessons and classes fun, energetic, and engaging, but I try to limit the exercises we do in class to those that will effectively help students to improve their language skills.
3) Creating a learning environment of mutual respect, kindness, and honesty.
The class structure will depend on the needs and goals of the individual students. Each student or group of students will have a uniquely tailored class that best helps them achieve their goals. Please contact me for more information about exercises and class activities.
