About Glenn
I taught English as a second language for over 15 years in Japan, teaching students of all levels and ages from beginner to advanced. In that time, I helped hundreds of students achieve their English goals, whether it was preparing them for university studies abroad or simply helping them to improve their English skills at home. Whether teacher in the public or private educational sectors, I made it my goal to ensure that my students were given every opportunity to succeed, with many of them either going on to study in the United States or helping them succeed in their careers.

My philosophy is simple: make learning fun. I at first take the time to get to know a little about my student, in particular, determining from them what their English goals are? Once that is established I then cater lessons around their needs. My experience tells me that student participation is essential in the learning process, so I encourage my students to take any and every opportunity they can to speak, generally around a 70:30 percent ratio.
