About Imandi
Hi, I'm Imandi! I'm a passionate and experienced English tutor dedicated to helping primary school students build confidence, strengthen their skills and develop a love for learning.
My Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Criminology
- Currently completing a Master of Counseling at Monash University
- VCE English study score of 40, with consistent A+ results throughout high school
- High Distinction achievements at Monash University
- Over 3 years of English tutoring experience
- Director of Service in Outside School Hours Care
- Over 6 years of experience coaching karate
- Strong background in public speaking and academic writing
Experience Supporting Additional Learning Needs
I have extensive experience supporting neurodivergent children and those with additional learning needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD and Global Developmental Delay (GDD).
I am confident in adapting my teaching methods to suit each child's individual strengths, learning styles, sensory needs and developmental abilities. I use patience, positive reinforcement, visual supports and engaging activities to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
I warmly welcome students of all abilities, including those with additional needs.
My background in psychology, counseling and child development allows me to approach tutoring with empathy, understanding and flexibility.

My English lessons are designed specifically for primary school students with a focus on making learning engaging, enjoyable and tailored to each child's individual needs, abilities and learning styles.
I believe younger children learn best in shorter, focused sessions rather than lengthy ones. For this reason, **my lessons run for 45 minutes of structured learning, with an additional 15 minutes dedicated to homework preparation, questions, revision and discussing areas for improvement.** This allows students to remain engaged without feeling overwhelmed.
My lessons focus on developing essential English skills, including:
- Reading and comprehension: Building fluency, understanding and confidence in reading.
- Writing skills: Developing sentence structure, paragraphs, creative writing and storytelling.
- Spelling, grammar and punctuation: Strengthening foundational literacy skills through interactive activities.
- Vocabulary development: Expanding language skills and encouraging effective communication.
- Homework and assessment support: Providing guidance with schoolwork and preparing for upcoming tasks.
- Confidence building: Encouraging students to express their ideas, ask questions and become independent learners.
I use a combination of interactive activities, visual learning resources, guided practice, educational games and positive reinforcement to keep lessons interesting and age-appropriate.
I recognize that every child learns at their own pace. I take the time to identify each student's strengths and challenges, adapting my teaching approach to suit their individual needs while celebrating their progress and achievements.
With over 3 years of tutoring experience, a VCE English study score of 40, a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Criminology, and ongoing postgraduate studies in Counseling at Monash University, I bring both academic knowledge and an understanding of children's learning and development to my teaching.
My extensive experience working with children has strengthened my ability to build positive relationships, maintain engagement and create a safe, supportive learning environment.
My goal is to help primary school students build strong English foundations, develop confidence in their abilities and discover that learning can be both fun and rewarding!
