About Priya
Hello! I’m Priya, an experienced English teacher with 10 years of teaching experience, and I enjoy helping students become confident and capable users of the English language.
I work with primary and secondary school students across different international and school curricula, including IGCSE, CBSE, Common Core, and the Australian Curriculum. My teaching covers phonics, grammar, reading comprehension, vocabulary, sentence construction, creative writing, descriptive writing, and academic writing.
With 10 years of experience, I have worked with students of different ages, levels, and learning needs. I understand that every student learns differently, so I adapt my lessons according to their level, learning pace, strengths, and areas for improvement.
I create a supportive classroom environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and trying again. My lessons are structured but engaging, combining clear explanations, guided practice, interactive activities, and independent application.
Whether a student needs to strengthen their English foundation, improve their school performance, develop better writing skills, or prepare for more challenging academic work, I aim to make every lesson purposeful, encouraging, and rewarding.
My goal is not only to improve a student’s English but also to help them become more confident, independent, and effective communicators.

I believe English learning should be structured, engaging, and tailored to each student’s individual needs. My approach focuses on building strong foundations while helping students develop confidence in using English independently.
I use a combination of clear explanations, guided practice, interactive activities, examples, questioning, and regular feedback. For younger learners, I incorporate phonics, vocabulary, sentence-building activities, and age-appropriate reading and writing tasks. For older students, I focus on grammar, comprehension, academic writing, creative writing, analysis, and exam-oriented skills.
A typical class begins with a short review of previous learning, followed by the introduction of a new concept. I then explain the topic with examples, guide the student through practice, and gradually encourage them to work independently. Each lesson ends with a brief review and, where appropriate, targeted homework for reinforcement.
One of my key strengths is adapting my teaching style to the student. I identify areas that need improvement and break difficult concepts into manageable steps. I also encourage students to ask questions, think critically, and learn from their mistakes rather than simply memorizing answers.
My classes are suitable for primary and secondary school students following curricula such as IGCSE, CBSE, Common Core, and the Australian Curriculum. I teach English skills including phonics, grammar, reading comprehension, vocabulary, sentence construction, creative writing, descriptive writing, and academic writing.
