About Chris
With 8 years of experience, including 2 years in an ICT classroom and one year as an assistant principal where I trained teachers, I offer a professional, well-rounded approach to tutoring in both math and ELA. My proven success includes 90%+ in Math and 85%+ in ELA state testing. I use a data-driven approach with regular check-ins, adjusting lessons to meet individual needs. I blend inquiry-based learning with direct instruction, using both digital and tangible manipulatives in math and analyzing author moves in ELA to improve comprehension and writing. I also provide state test preparation. Specializing in grades 2-4, I guide students through foundational skills and prepare them for more complex academic challenges. Math is planned weekly but adapted to ensure proficiency, with exit tickets after each lesson to track growth. I specialize in 2nd and 3rd-grade content but also work with 4th graders, preparing them for more complex thinking and state tests. With 8 years of experience, including 2 years in an ICT classroom, I’ve consistently achieved 90%+ in Math and 85%+ in ELA state testing.
