About Ella

I am an experienced Arabic tutor that loves unravelling the complexities of the Arabic language. I have been teaching Arabic for more than two years and have more than 25 students.
I graduated from SOAS, University of London with a BA in Arabic in 2018. As part of my degree, I spent a year abroad in Palestine.
I have an excellent command of Modern Standard Arabic grammar and vocabulary and am an enthusiastic and patient teacher.
About me:
Born in China to Dutch parents and raised in Singapore, I chose to study Arabic at degree level to continue my exploration of the world. Little did I know at the time, my Arabic studies would put me on the path to Islam. Living in Nablus for a year exposed me not only to Arabic, but also to the generosity of the Palestinian people.
I converted halfway through my year-abroad and have been Muslim for more than three years now. My knowledge of Arabic has enriched my experience as a believer and I am deeply passionate about helping others to unlock the beauty of the language.

I always prepare sessions that are perfectly tailored to the needs of my students. Whether you are a beginner, or have studied Arabic before, I break down complex topics and make them simple and enjoyable to study.
If you are studying Arabic to better understand the Holy Qur'an - you are in the right place. I have continued my Arabic studies at an advanced level at Islamic institutions and can assist in learning Qur'anic grammar and vocabulary.
With more advanced students, I read the Stories of the Prophets as well as other texts.
