About Ivan
I’m Ivan Dalia — a classically trained pianist and composer from Naples, Italy, now based in New York City. Blind from birth, I’ve always experienced music as a limitless world of color, passion, and possibility. I hold two Master’s degrees in Classical Piano and Composition from the Conservatorio di Napoli. My musical journey has taken me from Berlin’s vibrant scene to iconic NYC venues like Zinc Bar, and my work spans classical, jazz, Mediterranean, and South American influences. I’ve performed with legends like Toots Thielemans and composed for film and international art projects. Whether on stage or in the studio, I bring curiosity, emotion, and storytelling to everything I do — and I love sharing that joy through teaching.

Teaching music is one of the greatest joys in my life, and I’d be honored to share this passion with you. I can guide you through the classical repertoire from the Baroque to the Late Romantic period, or help you refine your interpretation of a piece you love — whether it’s a rock song, a soundtrack, or something you’ve composed yourself. I’ve studied various piano techniques, including Vitali’s and some of György Sándor’s principles, though I’ve ultimately developed my own personal approach. Whether you’re a dedicated amateur or a working professional, I prefer working with students who already have basic piano skills and can read music. My rates: • $80/hour on Zoom (high-quality audio) — First lesson: $40 • $100/hour in my studio (equipped with a Nord Stage 3 and Yamaha P-125, both with weighted keys) — First lesson: $50 • $120–150/hour at your location (depending on where you are in NYC) — First lesson: $60 If we’re in the middle of something important, I’m happy to go 10–15 minutes over time when needed. All payments are processed via Superprof before the end of each lesson.
