Experienced and qualified biology teacher with an excellent academic background.
I am passionate about science and education. In addition to completing a PGCE and having qualified teacher status (QTS), I hold a PhD in Ecology, an MSc degree (Distinction) and a BSc degree (First). I have over eight years of experience teaching Science and Biology at GCSE and A-Level. While I am more than happy to teach Science, my specialism is A-level biology and I have worked as an A-level examiner for ten years. As a private tutor I have taught students studying a range of exam boards, including AQA, OCR and WJEC. I am driven to help all students achieve their potential and have successfully supported students as they apply to University including Medicine, Veterinary Medicine and Oxbridge candidates. I believe in the power of education and that lessons should be engaging, challenging and student-centered. My lessons were consistently deemed as outstanding and I consider myself an enthusiastic, friendly and effective teacher.
I like to prepare my tutoring session so that we can use the time wisely and concentrate on your areas of concern.
