About Damien
I received a BSc (Hons.) in Experimental Psychology and PhD from the University of Bristol, and a MPH from University of Manchester.
I am a Chartered Psychologist and Associate Fellow with the British Psychological Society, a Fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health, and an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy,
I have taught at undergraduate and postgraduate level at the Universities of Bristol, St Andrews, Dundee, and Ghent. Topics I have taught include: research methods (quantitative, qualitative, mixed methods, and systematic review), psychology, public health, global health, bioethics, communication skills, and critical appraisal. In addition, I have supervised and assessed undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD/MD projects/dissertations.
I have also lead a research group exploring issues pertaining to violence, alcohol, and mental health. In this regard I have published a number of papers in academic journals and book chapters, and was awarded the Elizabeth Russell award by the Faculty of Public Health (Scotland) in 2011.
