About Marcello
Hi, I’m Marcello! I’ve been tutoring for over five years, specializing in all levels of mathematics and science, from algebra and geometry to calculus, physics, biology, and even pharmacy coursework and exam prep (including NAPLEX). I also help students prepare for standardized tests such as the SAT, ACT, and Regents. My background in pharmacy, finance, and data analysis allows me to connect complex academic concepts to real-world applications, helping students see the “why” behind what they’re learning. My teaching style is laid-back, patient, and down-to-earth. I know math and science can feel intimidating, so I create a relaxed environment where students can ask questions, make mistakes, and truly learn without stress. I believe every student can succeed once they understand the logic behind the material, and I love helping that “lightbulb moment” happen. Before becoming a full-time tutor, I spent five years as a teaching assistant in NYC public schools, working in both general and special education classrooms. That experience taught me how to adapt explanations to fit each student’s needs and to help learners at every level, whether they’re advanced, struggling, or have an IEP. Many of my students have raised their grades dramatically, and test prep students often see score increases of 100–150 points on the SAT. My mission is simple: to make learning clear, achievable, and confidence-building, no matter where you’re starting from.
