About Julie
I am currently an undergraduate student studying Criminal Justice and minoring in English. This specialization in social sciences heightens my awareness of formal report-style writing, while my English background gives me a comprehensive understanding of persuasive and thesis-based writing. Criminal Justice and English may be my specialties, but I also have foundational knowledge of contemporary history and would be excited to do additional research into any niche or technical topics to provide more personalized assistance.

Lessons follow a basic format: first, we start with a more collaborative approach in which I try and understand a student's goals for their specific essay or writing assignment; then I work on developing any necessary theses and big ideas; finally, we focus on actual writing techniques so that students can develop their personal skills and feel confident when composing any future assignments on their own.
I take a particular interest in any essays or topics I am working on and will do a considerable amount of prep time before each tutoring session because this vested interest allows me to personalize each session to an individual student's needs.
My lessons would best be suited for students in middle school or high school (grades 6-12), but I can also help any collegiate-level students with writing for electives or for criminal justice specifically.
