About Angelica
Hi students! It’s so great to have you here! My name is Angelica Duncan, I’ve lived and travelled all over the world, and I’m originally from Miami Beach, Florida. I reside here now. The fun thing about living here is that I’ve met so many incredible people from different countries who now speak English fluently! Learning a new language is CHALLENGING, of course it is! FACT: Within one hour, we forget an average of 50 percent of the information presented. Within 24 hours, we forget an average of 70 percent of new information. Anything our brains aren’t used to, put us in protective mode. It’s unfamiliar, foreign, and unnatural. A study from researchers at Harvard and MIT found that children are able to absorb new languages faster than adults until the age of 18 or 19, and that the ideal age to learn a language is before 10. No matter your level or age, do NOT fear, Angie, YOUR TUTOR, is HERE! Why do YOU want to learn English? Your answer is IMPORTANT. We’ll focus on vocabulary dedicated to your “WHY.”

Hi students! My name is Angelica Duncan, and I’m ready to teach you English, today! Improving or learning a new language can become repetitive, difficult, and confusing at times, let’s have fun while learning! If you’re looking to improve your English, I’ll engage in conversation with you, and we’ll replace the “wrong words,” as we go (Usually learners will use past tense words in the present tense, or vice versa) The goal is to expose your brain to the target language just when it is about to forget it, and learn words WE ACTUALLY USE, on a day to day basis. Then all the other words WE USE OCCASIONALLY, will start trickling in. THE GOOD NEWS is, English doesn't really have a grammatical gender as many other languages do, making it incredibly easy to learn! MOST IMPORTANTLY, English is the best language to learn because it is the global language of international business, science, technology, and diplomacy. Fun Fact: There are 100,000 worldwide flights per day. Including passenger, cargo, and military. Pilots need to be fluent in aviation English to communicate with the air traffic controllers!
