About Huria
Hello,你好, Kia Ora,
I just completed studies at Huaqiao University in Xiamen, China, where I achieved HSK Level 4 in Chinese. I also hold a Certificate in Chinese Language and Literature.
I have lived in Rotorua most of my life. I attended Kura Kaupapa Maori (total immersion Māori language schooling), attended boarding school in and now in completing my degree at the University of Auckland.
I enjoy spending time outside with nature, playing new sports, traveling and learning about new cultures. I also enjoy cooking and baking.
I have three brothers, and come from a big happy family.

I’m passionate about languages and helping others build confidence in their learning. I can offer support with English language and pronunciation to Chinese students, as well as te reo Māori, including helping learners understand and correctly pronounce Māori names and place names.
We can start off with a conversation about what you require English proficiency for, so that I can tailor your programme to suit your needs.
I am currently a completing my degree at the University of Auckland and would love to help students (school or university) develop their language skills in a relaxed, supportive, and encouraging environment.
