About Lavinia
Hello! My name is Lavinia, I'm Australian and live with my husband and our cat Coraline. I speak English, Brazilian Portuguese and Spanish. I have a Diploma of English Proficiency Advanced and Double Diploma in Tourism and Hotel Management from Holmes Colleges / James Cook University of Australia. I have 15 years of experience as an ESL teacher, having worked both at a language school and as a private tutor. I teach all levels from elementary to advanced. I translate and proofread articles, resumes and essays from English to Portuguese and vice versa.

I love teaching, exchanging ideas, learning about different cultures and meeting new people. My lessons are planned and tailored to each student's individual level, interests and goals. I provide alphabetization of children aged 8 to 12 years; after-school classes for teenagers aged 13 to 19 and dynamic adult conversation classes with a focus on business English, job interviews conference calls, meetings and presentations as well as preparatory courses for several internationally recognized certificates, such as FCE, PET Cambridge, SAT, IELTS, TOEFL, TOEIC and GMAT.

Mein Anliegen ist es, flüssig und korrekt englisch zu sprechen, da ich viel mit englischsprachigen Menschen zu tun habe und ich mich dabei gut ausdrücken möchte. Lavinia hilft mir dabei. Sie verbessert mich und gestaltet ihren Unterricht immer sehr abwechslungsreich. Lavinia kommt immer sehr gut vorbereitet zu unseren Treffen. Sie bringt z. B. aktuelle oder allgemeine Themen mit, über die wir dann diskutieren. Auch Grammatik-Fragen werden besprochen und mit Übungen verfestigt. Lavinia geht auf meine Bedürfnisse und Schwachstellen ein. In der Zeit mit Lavinia hat sich mein Englisch enorm verbessert, was mir große Freude macht. Mit Lavinia macht der Unterricht viel Spaß, weil sie ein humorvoller, freundlicher und geduldiger Mensch ist. Ich freue mich jedes Mal auf unser Treffen.
