About Miko
I’ve obtained a CELTA (Cambridge University Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) and have worked at various language schools around Melbourne.
More importantly, I’ve been surrounded by international people and have become close friends with many English learners and so I’ve become innately aware of what they want out of learning English, as well as what they want to become in life.
I’m an ardent language learner and love promoting bilingualism. I’m at an upper-intermediate level of Japanese, basic levels of Italian, Spanish and Cantonese, and my primary language as a child was Tagalog.
I’ve also been a director of a start-up company within the music industry here in Melbourne, becoming involved in various roles including marketing (online and personal networking), customer service and sales.

My core principles are founded on the power of conversation and relationship, as well as context. This goes for life, as well as in learning English. And so therefore, I believe that learning another language, especially a common lingua franca such as English, is also learning about life itself, which I think is super exciting!
I also believe in the power of a person’s ability to teach themselves and be autonomous in their learning. Therefore, everything I plan to teach will be completely based on what it is that you want to achieve in your language learning and in your life circumstances too.
