About Megan
I am a personable and kind individual who you will feel safe with to explore new and daunting concepts. I am extremely passionate about Geography and this will colour our sessions together! With climate change becoming an increasing presence in our lives, it is important that the young minds of today are informed and armed with knowledge and qualifications. I also feel fulfilled and rewarded by improving the confidence and skills of others. This is what inspires me to teach. I hold an MSc in Coastal and Marine Resource Management and a BSc in Geography (Hons) and I’m extremely knowledgeable in the field. I have also worked in the environmental industry for several years and can provide additional expert knowledge from this. Having real-world experience allows me to provide tangible evidence and examples which supports the learning content and provides an advanced layer of information to boost understanding and grades. I have experience managing and mentoring others and I am great at presenting and explaining difficult, complex concepts in a way that is understandable to all. I can also provide a clean DBS Check on request.

I offer Geography tutorial sessions online and in-person across West Sussex at Key Stages 3-5 (including GCSE and A-Level) and can also offer more advanced sessions for undergraduate students. I will use a combination of mixed media and textbook resources for study. I will tailor the approach to each student and each lesson will be planned in advance with a mixture of engaging activities and exam study.
My goal is to help students improve their confidence and grasp concepts whilst also deepening their knowledge. I will work with each individual student to find the best way of learning for them and put good communication at the forefront of teaching. I can assist in exam preparation including learning of command words, structuring of questions and hitting the required Assessment Objectives.
Before we begin tutoring we can have a discussion about your goals and needs and the first free session will assess whether I am the right fit for you, and you for me. I ask that before each lesson you are able to send me the material you wish to study or go over so that I can plan in advance.

She is really good at explaining complex concepts in an easy to follow manner and whilst we worked together she led several training exercises for new staff.
