About Aimee
Hi! I'm Aimee, she/her, and 24.
Since leaving school, I've completed a two-year associate degree in writing and editing from RMIT and am a second-year undergrad at The University of Melbourne.
I plan on getting a masters in teaching, and a diploma in English as a Second Language. After I finish university, I'll be going on to teach English and History at a high school level.

My approach to tutoring will understandably vary depending on the student and their learning style. I find it's important to develop a good rapport with my students and understand who they are as people and their driving interests.
For primary-aged students, I work on fostering a love of reading and ensuring they have the framework they need to excel in high school. I work with many students aiming to get into selective schools and give them the tools needed to do well in testing; for example, teaching students methods to draw ideas from a prompt quickly and effectively.
I teach my high school students essay writing and planning skills, and act as a guide for their English curriculum. My ultimate goal is to get them as ready as possible for the tasks on their VCE exams. That being essays, comparative analysis, language analysis, and context pieces.
I have worked with all kinds of texts in the past, including but not limited to: Shakespeare, creative non-fiction, memoir, modernist texts and plays, classics, poetry, and articles and editorials.
I'm a trained editor, so I am able to teach grammar and syntax.
