About Jess
I am a 21-year-old undergraduate at Cambridge University. I enjoy poetry, piano playing and reading Africa/black fiction in my spare time. I aspire to be an anthropological researcher in the future. I am passionate about education and upward social mobility. Tutoring is one way I can help reduce the social inequality gap in relation to academic attainment.

The first section of my lessons involves assessing the student's learning style, personal interests and academic position as well as their future academic goals. This allows me to gauge where the student is, where they want to be and also gives me themes to incorporate into the lesson to make it fun and engaging. By learning about what kind of learner the student is, this allows me to create presentation slides which align best with the student's learning style to optimise time and efficiency. For example, if the student learns best through kinetic movement then I would intentionally tailor the way I teach certain methods in maths to accommodate for that, or I would link motion to certain quotes to increase their memory of the quote when teaching English literature.
