About Huey Qing
I've always enjoyed explaining ideas and helping others understand new things, so teaching felt like a natural path for me. Through tutoring, I've seen firsthand how literacy can shape the way someone learns, communicates and navigates everyday life.
I've tutored children from B40 communities for over two years and also tutor a Deaf student using Malaysian Sign Language and written English. Outside of tutoring, I work as a Malaysian Sign Language interpreter, write articles for Taylor's University and organize community service projects. These experiences have strengthened my communication skills and taught me to work with people from different backgrounds and abilities.

After discussing your learning goals, I'll start with a short placement test to understand your strengths and areas for improvement. From there, I'll create a personalised learning plan with lessons and worksheets tailored to you.
During lessons, we'll work through concepts together before applying them through guided practice. If you're struggling, I'll explain it in different ways rather than repeating the same explanation. Lessons can be 1–2 hours long, and I'll adjust the pace and materials as you progress.
I support primary, secondary and older students, including those who need help with college-level English. We can work on grammar, reading, writing, spelling and vocabulary. I understand that students learn differently, so I adapt my approach to each learner.

The free 30-minute first session will be a short consultation to discuss your learning goals, current level and areas you'd like to improve. This will help me understand your needs before preparing your placement test and learning plan. Teaching materials and worksheets are included in the lesson fee.
