About Mary
I have been teaching English as a second language since 1992 to learners of various backgrounds namely, Arabs, Chinese, Indians, SriLankans, Egyptians, Pakistanis, Bangladeshis and so forth at undergraduate level. I have also authored a book for Report Writing. My students have always conveyed that they understand very well the concepts I teach.
My qualifications include:
- PGCE with QTS from the University of Bristol
- BA in English Literature
- Masters in Management and Marketing
- TEFL with distinction, Teaching of English as a Foreign Language, UK
- CELTA in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, UK
- FHEA Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, UK
I am very passionate about teaching and very dedicated to whatever I take on. I believe in doing my best in enhancing the knowledge of my learners.

I first explain the concept using PowerPoint slides with examples. Then an exercise is done with the students to reinforce the topic. I believe in helping the learner understand the concept, so that he/she can rely on his/her own knowledge and understanding after the lesson. My students range from beginners to upper intermediate learners. My forte is explaining grammar concepts. I pace my lessons based on the level of the learner.
I can hold tailor-made lessons in the evenings in reading strategies, pronunciation, speaking and grammar via Zoom.
