About Brianna
I graduated from Tecumseh High School in 2022 with a great passion for writing, especially creative writing. I then enrolled in Eastern Michigan University for secondary education in language, literature, and writing. I met lots of wonderful people and deepened my passion for writing and reading, graduating in May of 2026 with a bachelor's in secondary education. I passed the Michigan Teaching Test, which allowed me to earn an endorsement in English. I have had many one-on-one interactions during my student teaching and have found that building personal connections makes it easier to learn!

My teaching method typically falls into the philosophy of gradual release of responsibility; starting with little steps at a time that lead to the completion of something bigger! I complete lessons with three easy steps: I do, we do, you do!
A typical lesson plan will begin with a light warm-up that aligns with the larger activity/lesson in the future (an example of this would be reading a small poem before learning how to write one). That's followed by an overview of what we are going to learn (brief history/schema lesson on the topic). This is then followed by a demonstration produced by me! We'll do it together; only after that will you complete the assignment or activity on your own.
With this process, I will be with you every step of the way, even if the responsibility has been released to you! I foster a safe learning environment where all steps can have whatever flow is necessary for your comfort while still maintaining an academic expectation, so we all feel proud of our progress! These lessons are for 6-12th graders with an English focus, and of course, anyone needing a little assistance with ELA.
