Hello! My name is Kayley, and I’m an experienced English and EAL teacher who loves helping students discover their strengths and succeed in their studies. About the lesson

I believe every student learns best when lessons are clear, engaging, and adapted to their needs. I use a mix of direct instruction, guided practice, and interactive activities so students not only understand the material but also feel confident applying it. I focus on breaking down complex ideas into simple, manageable steps and connecting new learning to what students already know. A lesson with me usually begins with a quick review or warm-up to check understanding. Then we dive into the main concept, where I explain clearly, give examples, and ask guiding questions to encourage critical thinking. We work through practice activities together before moving on to independent work where students can show what they’ve learned. At the end, I always include time for reflection and questions to make sure the student leaves confident. I specialize in adapting lessons to fit each learner’s pace, interests, and goals. My background in English Language Arts and English as an Additional Language means I’m experienced in supporting a wide range of learners, from those who need extra scaffolding to advanced students who want enrichment.
