About Matheus
Hi! I’m Matheus, Teacher Melo. I have taught English since 2019 in language schools and through private lessons, both online and in person. I enjoy helping beginners and learners who understand English but struggle to speak.
I completed my English studies at Topway English School and am studying for a teaching degree in Portuguese and English at UniCesumar. I have also completed all the coursework for the TESOL programme from Arizona State University.
In my lessons, you have room to ask questions, try things out and make mistakes without embarrassment. I adapt activities to your level and goals, offer clear feedback and follow your progress. We work towards using English outside the classroom: in conversations, while travelling and at work. Portuguese-speaking beginners can receive support in Portuguese.
Tell me what you want to achieve with English and what feels difficult. We’ll plan your next steps together.

Do you understand English but struggle to respond? Or do you want to start but don't know where to begin? Let's work on that with individual online lessons, tailored to your level and the situations where you need to use the language. I work with beginners to advanced levels (A1 to C1), focusing on conversation, pronunciation, vocabulary, and comprehension. We can practice everyday conversations, travel situations, and workplace communication. Grammar is included as support to help you express yourself better, with clear explanations and practice. How it works: • First, we discuss your goals and identify your level and difficulties. • In class, you practice with guided conversation, activities, and real-life situations, receiving corrections and feedback. • Between sessions, there is material and homework to continue practicing. • I monitor your progress and adjust subsequent lessons to what you need to develop. You don't need to arrive already speaking fluently. My role is to help you build that confidence, step by step. Send a message describing your goal, your current level (even if you're not entirely sure), and the times you can study. This way, we can find the best plan and availability to begin.
