About Al
I am a retired teacher who realizes that my skills should not go to waste in the garden. Of course I have a garden, but I also know that there are students out there who are in need of experienced teachers who can impart their skills and continue to contribute to education. This is my motivation for joining the tutoring fraternity and is my way of continuing to serve others.

My main objective is to give the student the skills required to pass the exam well.
My lessons are customised to your needs.
If you have weak areas, then we remediate them and practise them until you are fully competent.
I provide support materials, during and at the end of the lesson.
I also check your assessments and tasks and provide guidance for improvement, using the rubrics and your task sheet to ensure that your SBA mark is the best you can achieve.
A typical lesson would consist of teaching the required skills and then using past question papers for practice. The student is guided throughout this process.
However, not all lessons are the same because FET English Home Language has many aspects such as Literature (drama, novel and poetry - analysis and essay writing), Oral, Creative and Transactional Writing, and, of course, Language (consisting of comprehension skills, summary skills, visual and media literacy, as well as grammar).
I pride myself in being a warm and supportive tutor who has produced excellent results in my students.
