About Carolyn
I have an MA in literature and an MEd in higher education. A significant portion of the coursework for my MA in literature was in composition. This includes seminars in writing fiction, creative writing, and poetics. I have attended many writing workshops and professional conferences to keep current in my field.
In my class I use a variety of teaching and assessment strategies to stimulate and evaluate student learning, to accommodate the needs of various learners, and to build a safe and inspiring learning environment.
As our world becomes more complex, I work hard to ensure my students have the skills to be successful. My love and dedication to writing and to my students’ success are what make me the perfect professor for you.

Most students come to me when they have an assignment that is due. I help them understand the prompt then break down the skills they need to write their composition or complete the task given for the book they are reading.
I help my students connect each skill they learn to other potential future tasks. i also assess their basic reading and writing skills and suggest ways they can improve weak areas.
