About Sara

Hello! My name is Sara, and I am a British Qualified Teacher (QTS) with over 15 years of experience teaching and tutoring in both the UK and international schools. I hold a Master's degree in Education and a BA (Hons.) in English Language and Linguistics.

Throughout my career, I have worked with children, teenagers, and adults from a wide range of backgrounds and abilities, supporting learners both in the classroom and through private tuition. My experience includes roles as a classroom teacher, curriculum coordinator, and Deputy Head in a British international school.

I am passionate about helping children, teenagers and adults realise their potential and gain confidence through education. One of the most rewarding parts of teaching is seeing the moment when a concept suddenly makes sense and a student begins to believe in their own abilities. Whether a learner is struggling with a particular topic, preparing for exams, learning English, or simply looking to build confidence, I enjoy helping them move from uncertainty to understanding.

I have extensive experience supporting neurodivergent learners, including students with ADHD, autism and dyslexia. I believe that every student learns differently, and my role is to identify what works best for each individual and create a supportive environment where they can thrive.

My goal is not only to help students achieve academic success, but also to develop the confidence, independence, and learning strategies that will benefit them long after our lessons have ended.

About the lesson

My lessons are highly personalised and designed around each student's individual goals, strengths, and learning style. Before we begin, I take the time to understand the student's current level, areas for development, and what they would like to achieve so that I can create a tailored learning plan.

I provide English and Maths support for primary students, as well as English tuition for teenagers and adults, including learners of English as an Additional Language (EAL). I also offer homework support, study skills coaching, academic writing support, and exam preparation.

For English learners, lessons may focus on speaking, fluency, pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary development, reading comprehension, writing skills, or exam preparation. For Maths students, lessons focus on building strong foundations, developing problem-solving strategies, improving arithmetic fluency, and strengthening mathematical reasoning.

My teaching approach combines clear explanations, guided practice, interactive activities, and regular opportunities for students to apply their learning independently. I use a range of strategies including modelling, scaffolding, discussion-based learning, visual supports, and real-world examples to make learning accessible and engaging.

Lessons are typically 60 minutes long and include personalised resources, targeted feedback, and optional homework to reinforce learning between sessions. I aim to create lessons that are structured, encouraging, and enjoyable, helping students build confidence while making meaningful progress towards their goals.
