About Carenza
I study Scandinavian Studies and English Literature at the University of Edinburgh. I have worked consistently to a 1:1/2:1 level throughout uni and am now in my final year! As a Swedish learner, I spent my third year in Sweden teaching English and Swedish at the equivalent of GCSE/A-Level. I am most comfortable with the English examination system but I have plenty of experience proof reading essays and offering study technique advice.
Of course, I have more experience teaching English as a second language. However, as it was in Scandinavia, the level was VERY high and not dissimilar to what I have also seen in Britain.
I have also assisted friends with essay advice and study techniques.
I am incredibly organised and can help others with time management also.

About the lesson

Firstly, I like to be able to assess for myself what the student is struggling with/needs to work on the most. I ask the student themselves, but I believe that an outside perspective is clearer, especially for those who believe they are finding everything difficult.
After that, I like to use the following method:
1. Teach: tutor the student on what they need to work on.
2. Assess: this does NOT mean test! Just a first application of the new knowledge.
3. Review: based on the assessment, I review what things can still be tweaked, and what has been grasped beautifully by the student.
4. Apply: with this review, I help the student to apply this new knowledge.
