Joanna is a respected member of our tutor community. She is highly recommended for her commitment and the quality of her lessons. An excellent choice to progress with confidence.
About Joanna
During my time at university I have voluntarily tutored GCSE students in English Literature weekly, who have told me that consequently their grades have risen and they have learned to enjoy the subject more.
I am passionate about making sessions enjoyable as well as very productive, as in my experience this is how a student's confidence in his or her subject best flourishes.
I have also spent time volunteering for the charity Phab, organising and participating in social events for children with disabilities.

I would love to help anyone who wants to improve their grades in these subjects. Whether they are struggling or want to excel even further, I can enable them to score in the highest grade band. I want to kindle a passion for learning in my students, as well as helping them increase their grades.
The lesson structure will be tailored to the student's needs; in the first free session we will establish what these are and devise a plan, however I can also be spontaneous and help with any topic that the student brings to me. I am able to provide a sharp focus on problematic areas, as well as on the minutiae of the marking criteria that allow the student to jump up to a higher grade, and ultimately help the student gain confidence in the subject.

I am a fellow English undergraduate with Joanna, and I continue to be impressed with her contagious passion for the subject. Not only is she one of the most dedicated and motivated students in our department, but her patience and compassion allow her to effectively communicate complex ideas in an accessible way.
I would highly recommend Joanna to anyone looking for a tutor.Joanna is a fellow undergraduate at Durham University and was a colleague of mine in the voluntary tutoring programme run during year 1.
Joanna is an extremely diligent personality with an attention to detail and a sensitivity to the process of learning. She is extremely conscientious and highly-reliable, often more than willing to go the extra mile to secure understanding and provide the extra assistance necessary. I could not recommend her tutoring services highly enough.View more recommendations
