I hold a PhD in British Literature and have almost ten years' teaching experience at several colleges and universities in the upper Midwest. I have taught primarily literature and composition, but I also enjoy teaching humanities, film, and creative writing.

Part of my approach is to guide students in learning how to critique both their own work and that of others. Learning how to formulate a question is key to beginning a conversation about a given text. Dialogue leads to discovery. To quote Forster: "Only connect."
