About Molly
Hi I’m Molly, I have both my Undergraduate and my Masters in English Literature from the University of Bristol and have my TEFL qualification. I am available to tutor GCSE and A-Levels, as well as KS3 and KS4. Tutors are sought out for many reasons, but I know from personal experience as a student that it’s not necessarily a fun subject for the student. After I failed my maths GCSE, I sought out a tutor. I used to cry in lessons but my tutor was so friendly and understood me that she made the learning (almost) fun as she recognised my needs and would provide the specific 1-1 support and learning that I needed. My confidence in maths grew and I passed my retake which I was thrilled with (I don’t have to worry about acute angles anymore)! Over COVID, in between my degrees, I also found a tutor to improve my French. I didn’t used to cry in French lessons but I didn't thrive, it’s still vulnerable and difficult if you struggle to learn. My tutor’s approach, a similar one to my first tutor, supported me so much - his ability to recognise and understand my needs placed the (once confusing and elusive French) to a more tangible and known concept that I started to finally understand. My tutors have helped me so much that I would like to support students in the way their personalised approaches supported me as an individual. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

My teaching style and aim is to stay in tune with each individual student's unique needs, perspective, and learning style. I do this so I can best tailor my lesson plans and the learning experience in a way that feels more accessible to that specific student. The focalised approach works to increase the student’s confidence and supports them to drive their success. I put the student and their individuality first as I know that when I was being tutored in subjects I had once really struggled with, that more often than not I just needed the core information to be rephrased slightly, or translated into a real life examples or reference that I could already understand (so everything didn’t seem alien and confusing). Sometimes the phrasing or language in school, or the additional stress of being overwhelmed or anxious, meant that it was sometimes difficult to get the information to stick. The personalised approach that my tutors took worked so well for me and helped support my success. Lessons last an hour, with the option to book double slots if needed. I am available to tutor GCSE and A-Levels, as well as KS3 and KS4.
