I like to use an icebreaker to put my students at ease so that I can get to know them. Then I ask about their problems in the language so that I know what to concentrate on in order to help them reach their goal.
I teach about the aspect that is problematic and I give students exercises in order to see whether they understand the work. There is also question and answer time to reinforce the lesson.
