About Rachana
English has always come naturally to me , during my final year of school I was the person my classmates turned to when they needed help with writing and comprehension, and that informal mentoring role eventually became something I genuinely loved doing. Later, while completing my Bachelor of Engineering in AI and Data Science, I worked closely alongside my English professor during seminars, which gave me a real appreciation for how clarity of thought and clarity of language are deeply connected. What makes me a little different from a typical English tutor is that analytical backbone, I approach language the way I approach a problem, breaking it down into its parts, finding where the confusion lives, and working through it systematically until it makes sense. I teach Years 3 to 10 students and I keep my student numbers small on purpose, because I genuinely believe every child deserves focused, personalised attention rather than a one-size-fits-all lesson plan.

My lessons are relaxed but purposeful. My lessons are relaxed but always purposeful — we are not here to fill time, we are here to make real progress. Each 45 to 60 minute session is built around your child specifically, whether that means working on reading comprehension, building writing confidence, strengthening grammar foundations, or preparing for school assessments. I use texts and topics that kids actually find interesting, because engagement is half the battle with English. We go at a pace that suits the student — never rushing, never patronising — and by the end of each session there is always something concrete they can take away and apply. Available online and in person across Melbourne CBD, Hughesdale and neighbouring suburbs.
