About Julia
I am semi-retired, now residing in a small village in the Highlands. I have had a long and varied career, with experience in bookbinding, taxi driving, television and film studio management, and, for the last 25 years of my working life (up until now) editing and producing news digests for a wide variety of organisations. I worked closely with the Bank of England for much of that period, but also with companies such as BT and Barclays, government departments, the royal family and media organisations. I have always been an avid reader across a wide range of subjects and enjoy sharing my knowledge.

I am new to tutoring but have been mentoring students in the Highlands for two years and perhaps found my vocation (at 62) rather late in life. I would take a very bespoke approach to teaching and work with the student to find what works best and how I might be able to help them reach their potential. I would be comfortable teaching any age but feel that I am especially effective with 11-14 year olds; an age when students are perhaps starting to understand where their skills lie but have not yet realised how those skills might be best applied. Confident in teaching a wide range of subjects, including, but not exclusively; English, History, Philosophy, Mathematics, Religion and History of Art.
