About Salman
Hello! My name is Salman, and I am an English Graduate from the University of Waterloo. I believe that the ability to communicate effectively is of paramount importance in all walks of life. If I can help a student hone their writing and communication skills, they may find it easier to voice their opinions, passions, and concerns with precision in the future. The idea of that as a possibility motivates me.
Mainly though, I am inspired by the variety of unique perspectives that each individual holds and shares in their writing, and this is why I love teaching. As for my life outside of tutoring, I love to make music, rock climb, and hang out with my friends!

By helping a student understand the hidden contexts behind their writing format, I can give them the best head-start possible before they type a single word.
For instance, a successful writing piece is informed by ancient rhetorical techniques such as:
-understanding of the audience and their expectations
-acknowledging and responding to the opposing viewpoint
-being keyed in to the emotional tone required of the piece
A typical lesson (e.g. essay preparation) would involve me going over these rhetorical techniques with the student using a specialized essay outline. I believe high-school/university level students benefit from this approach the most.
